Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

All fees paid to Design Expression Interior Architects are strictly non-refundable, without exception.

By confirming a booking, signing an agreement, or making any payment, the client expressly acknowledges that Design Expression Interior Architects provides custom, made-to-order professional services. As such, once a payment is made, no refunds, chargebacks, or reversals will be issued, regardless of project progress, delays, dissatisfaction, change of scope, or early termination by the client.

 

Commencement of work includes—but is not limited to—concept development, drawings, layouts, consultations, meetings, site visits, coordination, research, procurement support, or any preparatory or administrative activity.

If a project is paused, postponed, or cancelled by the client for any reason, all fees already paid remain fully due and payable. Any outstanding invoices at the time of cancellation remain enforceable.

 

This policy applies to all services, including design fees, consultancy, retainers, deposits, advance payments, digital services, and bundled service packages.

This refund policy operates in conjunction with our Terms & Conditions and is governed by Dutch law.

 

For clarification, clients are advised to review this policy carefully before making any payment.

Webshop Product Refund Policy

This section applies exclusively to physical and digital products purchased through the Design Expression webshop.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

All products that are custom-made, made-to-order, specially sourced, personalized, or produced on request are strictly non-refundable and non-returnable, in accordance with Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code. This includes, but is not limited to, furniture, bespoke items, custom finishes, materials, samples, and products ordered specifically for a client.

 

Standard (Non-Custom) Products

For standard, non-custom products, consumers may exercise the statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of receipt, provided that:

  • The product is unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging

  • The product is not installed, altered, or assembled

  • The product is not a hygiene-sensitive or sealed item that has been opened

The right of withdrawal must be requested in writing within 14 days of delivery.

 

Exclusions

Refunds and returns are not accepted for:

  • Installed or used products

  • Digital products once accessed or downloaded

  • Gift cards, vouchers, or discount codes

  • Clearance or sale items (unless defective)

  • Products damaged due to incorrect use, installation, or third-party handling

 

Return Conditions & Costs

Approved returns must be sent back within 14 days after approval.
All return shipping, handling, inspection, and restocking costs are entirely at the customer’s expense.

Refunds (where applicable) will be processed only after inspection and approval and may exclude original shipping, handling, and payment processing fees.

 

Defective or Incorrect Products

Claims for defective or incorrectly delivered products must be reported in writing within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by clear photographs and order details. After this period, products are deemed accepted.

Where a defect is confirmed, Design Expression reserves the right to repair, replace, or refund at its sole discretion.

 

General

Design Expression reserves the right to refuse any return or refund that does not comply with this policy.
